A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
